Dr. E. Prabakaran is an Assistant Professor (SS) in the Department of Civil Engineering at Dr.N.G.P. Institute of Technology with over 14 years of teaching and research experience in Civil and Structural Engineering.
He completed his Diploma in Architectural Assistantship with Honours, earned his B.E. in Civil Engineering and M.E. in Structural Engineering with distinction from Anna University, and obtained his Ph.D. in Structural Engineering from Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science in 2022. His doctoral research focused on the performance of magnetic water concrete under various environmental conditions.
His research interests include sustainable construction materials, geopolymer concrete, fiber reinforced concrete, structural engineering, smart infrastructure systems, and machine learning applications in civil engineering. He has authored and co-authored numerous research papers published in reputed international journals, conference proceedings, and Springer book chapters.
Dr. Prabakaran has actively organized and coordinated several Faculty Development Programs, seminars, workshops, webinars, and international conferences sponsored by organizations such as AICTE and DRDO. He has also delivered invited lectures in the areas of geotechnical engineering, finite element methods, GIS and remote sensing, disaster management, and sustainable engineering practices.
He serves as a reviewer for reputed international journals including Springer Nature journals, Advances in Concrete Construction and Elsevier’s Cement and Concrete Composites. He is a life member of ISTE and IE(I), member in ILCE and a member of several national and international professional societies.
In recognition of his academic mentoring and professional contributions, he received the Best Mentor Award in 2017. He has also contributed as a Board of Examiner member, question paper setter, doctoral committee member, and university representative for examinations across various universities and autonomous institutions.
